Mari Ouchi, born in Japan, New York based multidisciplinary artist , her design background enriches her exploration of diverse worlds, sparking a sense of navigating between design and art fields while fulfilling the unique needs of each field.

Influenced by Eastern and Western cultures, her practice delves into themes of identity and femininity, reflected in her mixed material , her surreal sculptures and installations that weave together myth, ritual, nature and shared human experiences. The works she creates are bridges connecting materials, people, and communities, while her collaborative performances with other artists, such as musicians and dancers, are a reflection of Japanese Shinto practice, which harmonises the spirit and nature together.

Ouchi's works have been shown at galleries and institutions around the world, including  White Columns, New York; Bridget Donahue, New York; Lars Friedrich, Berlin; Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris.  Ouchi's work is included in the permanent collection at Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris.
